The Fashion Awards 2017 : Report by Fykaa Caan
There was a night of celebrations and achievements at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in partnership with Swarovski alongside an emotional tribute to Azzedine Alaia by Naomi Campbell. Some of the most well-known names came out in the evening including an assemblage of models that were dear to Azzedine Alaia.
Amongst the winners of the night was Vogue cover star Adwoa Aboah who won ‘Model of the Year’ wearing a glittering creation from London-based designer Halpern. She wore a sequinned mini dress and matching metallic turban finishing of with Christian Louboutin wedges which had customised Swarovski crystals.
It was also a night where longer-serving members of the fashion industry were awarded and the fashion Icon of the year was won by Donatella Versace who produced one of the most memorable fashion moments of the year when she put five of the original 90s supermodels on the catwalk in September and celebrates 20 years designing for Versace this year.
As for the best dressed attendee? That award would have to go to Selena Gomez who looked retro in a vintage-inspired lace adorned dress by Coach. Selena’s choice of designer hardly comes as a surprise as the actress and singer is currently the face of the brand and has previously created a collection with the accessory and clothing designer.
The fashion award categories saw over 2,000 key industry figures which were part of the panel to vote for nominees and winners, across nine categories.
