Amsterdam- based clothing label Daily Paper and the Van Gogh Museum are launching a new collection together on 2 October 2020, with a second clothing line featuring a selection of Vincent van Gogh’s masterpieces. Daily Paper and the Van Gogh Museum see this partnership as a chance to explore how fashion and art can bring people from different backgrounds together and learn from each other in the process.

Second clothing line
Inspired by the life and work of Vincent van Gogh, Daily Paper has once more teamed up with the Van Gogh Museum to design this special autumn/winter collection. This second line features iconic works such as The Potato Eaters (1885) and Sunflowers (1889), alongside a number of Van Gogh’s lesser known floral compositions. The new collection includes coats, t-shirts, jumpers, jackets and a range of accessories. The autumn/winter collection will be available from 12 noon CET on Friday 2 October in the Van Gogh Museum webshop, at Dailypaperclothing.com, in Daily Paper stores, the Van Gogh Museum shop and other selected retailers worldwide, priced from €70 – €280.

Daily Paper x Van Gogh Museum
Where the first Daily Paper x Van Gogh Museum fashion line explored design in Van Gogh’s works, this second line zooms in on the artist himself. By drawing parallels between the life and career of one of the Netherlands’ most celebrated artists on the one hand and those of modern young makers on the other, Daily Paper and the Van Gogh Museum hope to engage and inspire a new generation. This partnership between the Van Gogh Museum and Daily Paper ties in with Van Gogh connects, a four-year research programme powered by Fonds 21 examining how the museum can be and stay relevant for young people with bicultural backgrounds. Daily Paper has its own deep roots in this youth culture, making it a valuable partner for the Van Gogh Museum.

Additional Activities

Friday 23 and 30 October, 04.00 – 08.30 pm in the museum
In association with De Beeldbrekers  – a group of young people with bicultural backgrounds who are contributing their perspectives and expertise to shape a more inclusive Van Gogh Museum – visitors are invited to experience this latest partnership between the Van Gogh Museum and Daily Paper. On Friday 23 and 30 October the museum will offer a panel discussion with the founders of Daily Paper, guided tours of the Van Goghs chosen for this collection and workshops all centring on the themes that connect Daily Paper and the Van Gogh Museum: growth, perseverance, self-education, muses and role models.
